Rent a car for one day to visit the National park

Daytour Washington Slagbaai Park

One of the activities that you can’t miss during your visit on bonaire is a daytour to the Wastington Slagbaai park. The correct name is Washington Slagbaai National Park. “Washington” and “slagbaai” were 2 different area’s in the past. The former owner of Washington sold his property to the government. His wish was to keep his property as a nature reserve. Some time later the government added Slagbaai to the Washington Reserve and that is how Washington Slagbaai National Park was born. The total acreage is 14.000 hectares. There is a lot to see in this area. For the younger and the older generation. If you want to go to the National Park you need to prepare yourself. It is important to think about a couple of things before you go to the north. The route to the park is shown below

It is important to know your reason to visit the park. It is required to have a good car. Most of our cars are suitable, check on the specific car page or ask us if the car you prefer to rent is good for a visit to the park. Inside the park there are multiple activities you can do, for example you can do a mountain bike route of make a hike to the Brandaris, which is the highest point on bonaire.

Day planning

Plan your day: the park is open from 08:00 til 17:00. However you are unable to enter the park after 14:00. Always check the website, Facebook or Instagram page of Stinapa to know if the park is open. During the raining

Take enough water

It is very important to take enough water and food to the park. It is not possible to buy anything inside the park.

Take your swimming gear

Next to the beautiful nature there are also some nice places to cool down, snorkel,, dive or sunbath. Don’t forget your swimming gear, snorkels, and a towel. You can also jump from the cliff. Will you try it?!

Use enough sunscreen

It is important to use sunscreen every day, but some people forget when they go to the park while you are outside in the sun all day. Try to apply it multiple times a day!

Sebastians is a very nice restaurant on the boulevard. on
Sunday they have Italian night and you can get 1 of the best here
eat pizza for a good price. Sebastians also has a
location on Sorrobon, this is a lovely place to relax on a bed
to lie down or have lunch. They also often have a
DJ.

Chefs is a small-scale restaurant in the Bamboo Bali resort.
It is very difficult to book but once it is
succeeded it is well worth the high end food from
chefs to try.

Restaurant the dock is our favorite seafood restaurant on the island.
They almost always have the tastiest and freshest tuna here.
They get these delivered almost daily from the small
harbor next to the restaurant.

While kitesurfing, you’ll spot pelicans and flamingos flying overhead, often encounter sea turtles swimming by, and if you’re lucky, even have dolphins joining you. It’s truly a paradise!

Kitesurfing Lessons on Bonaire

During your first lesson, you’ll likely start by flying a kite on the beach to get the hang of it. Once comfortable, you’ll move on to the water with a larger kite for safe practice. You’ll quickly develop a feel for it and may even ride a few meters on the board during your first lesson. The learning process varies from person to person, but eventually, everyone will be kiting independently, experiencing the exhilarating feeling of gliding over the water and mastering new skills. There are many food trucks on Bonaire. Food trucks are becoming more and more popular.. We have made a selection of our 3 favorite food trucks. It was a difficult choice but 3 delicious food options came out.

Kite City

At the top of our list is we have Kite City. Kite City can be described in one word, delicious. If you are on holiday on Bonaire, you should definitely try the tuna or beef burger. Kite city also makes delicious Sangria.

Cactus Blue

Cactus blue is one of the oldest food trucks on Bonaire. This Foodtruck is known for it’s delicious Lionfish burger. You have to be there really early for this because this lionfish burger is often sold out around 11 am. If you’re arriving later, the hamburger and chicken sandwich with a fresh juice are also really delicious options.

King Kong is located on Bachelor beach and here you can get one of the best burgers and hot dogs on the island. Bachelor beach is a beach that is not very well known among tourists. Nevertheless, this is one of the best snorkeling or swimming spots on the island. So why not combine a nice lunch with some snorkeling or swimming?

Club Tropicana

Club Tropicana is the Beach club that belongs to Delfins and is one of our teams favorites. At club tropicana you can order tasty snacks and excellent food from the kitchen of Brassboer. You can sit, drink, relax, swim and for people who like activities you can now also e-foil right in front of the beach. The nice thing about the beach of Delfins is that you can enter the water via the pier, so you don’t have to be bothered by the coral at all. Keep in mind that Delfins is closed on Sundays for people not staying at the resort.

Sebastians Beach

Sebastians Beach has not been around for a long time but it is definately one of our favorite places! Most of the days around 4PM a DJ will play relaxed music and later in the evening it turns into a Party on friday and sunday. They are mainly known for the party on Sunday evenings.

Ocean Oasis

Ocean oasis is a super nice place, you can chill on a luxuous and comfortable sun bed, there is very good coffee, you can dine well and on Friday evening there is a party.

Hang out beach bar

The hang out beach bar is Sorobon’s first beach club. This beach bar has been there for years and has a very nice and cozy Surf atmosphere. If you come to Bonaire for windsurfing, the hang out Beach bar is most likely the place you will go. You can relax in between surfing and book your lessons or rent equipment at Jibe City, which is the surf school that belongs to it. It’s also a perfect location if part of the family wants to surf and some want to sunbathe or enjoy the beautiful sea that Sorobon has to offer.
